What is LoveBack?

LoveBack is a professional development retreat designed exclusively for Indigenous professionals—who give so much of themselves to their work, their families, and their communities.

This June 25–27, we’ll gather at the breathtaking Kananaskis Nordic Spa to reconnect with ourselves and each other. This is not your typical training. LoveBack is about replenishing what the world takes—offering space to rest, reflect, and reconnect with who we are beyond the roles we carry.

If you’re an Indigenous professional navigating challenging and exhausting workplaces and you’re feeling the weight of burnout, isolation, collective trauma, or are simply seeking deeper connection, LoveBack is for you.

Come as you are. Leave with more of yourself.

To help us achieve the reconnection and restoration we need, I have invited guests with healing gifts to work with us: Vanessa Peckford (medium and medicine maker), Moana Paulus (Polynesian healer), Debbi Ross (counsellor) and Sherry Lynn (massage and other healing modalities).

  • 2.5 days of training with Myrna McCallum, The Trauma-Informed Lawyer

  • 3 nights accommodations at the Pomeroy

  • Breakfast, lunch and coffee/snacks

  • A session with Moana, the Polynesian Healer

  • A medicine bag making workshop with Vanessa

  • A massage with Sherry Lynn

  • Access to our counsellor, Debbi

  • For an additional fee payable to the venue, registrants can access the thermal spas, book spa services, reserve golf times and more!

What Supports are included?

  • Moana Paulus (she/her) specializes in Polynesian Healing.  Maori Romi-romi (maternal lineage) by birthright, and Hawaiian Lomi-lomi lineages with permission.
Her passion is helping people remove the cellular memory of trauma, shock and grief without having to re-live the initial incident. Bringing all bodies, mental, emotional, spiritual, and ethereal back in to alignment through the physical.

Outside of her private practice, Moana has been working extensively with the Ligwilda’xw Health Society, supporting First Nations Trauma and Grief retreats.

  • Vanessa Peckford (she/her) is Blackfoot Indigenous of the Siksika Nation in Alberta. As an Indigenous Psychic Medium, Lightworker, Space Holder, Energy Healer, and Wayshower, her process is deeply rooted in spirituality with a heart-centered approach. Vanessa hosts public and private reading events helping bridge the two worlds between the earthly plane and spirit world. She also hosts workshops centered around spiritual guidance, healing, and sacred medicines. Vanessa works with her Ancestors for their guidance and support. Her mother was an Indian Residential School survivor who experienced traumas that no person should ever have to experience. Vanessa is passionate about education and healing the intergenerational trauma of Indian Residential School.
