Professor Sarah Katz
Professor Sarah Katz (she/her) is a Clinical Professor of Law at Temple University Beasley School of Law and a Senior Fellow with the Stoneleigh Foundation. She directs the Family Justice Clinic, advocating for families affected by state intervention. Her scholarship focuses on family policing abolition, anti-racist, trauma-aware legal education, and family law.
Previously, she was a supervising attorney at Community Legal Services and has taught at Temple Law and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She served as a law clerk to Judge Norma L. Shapiro. Katz is active in legal organizations and is Vice-Chair of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Juvenile Court Rules Committee. She earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003 and her B.A. from Columbia University in 1997.
