Katey Thom

Katey is of Pākehā descent and is an associate professor at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) whose work spans the intersection of law, health, and social justice. She collaborated on the project, He Ture Kia Tika | Let the Law Be Right, exploring how Aotearoa’s criminal justice system can better support people experiencing mental distress and addiction through trauma-informed, co-designed approaches that incorporate lived experience. This project led to the development of a trauma-informed law course for AUT law students and provided research support for Hei Tatau Pounamu.
