Isibor Aigbe Oaikhinan

Isibor Oaikhinan (he/him) is a Nigerian-trained lawyer and Legal Officer with the Central Bank of Nigeria. He serves as Chair of the Refugee Law Committee of the American Bar Association International Law Section, Commissioner with the IBA Professional Wellbeing Commission, and is a Fellow of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF).

With over 11 years of experience spanning public policy, pro bono legal work, refugee protection, and mental health advocacy, Isibor brings a trauma-conscious and decolonial lens to questions of justice, accountability, and legal design. His work interrogates how legal systems can function as sites of harm, particularly for displaced persons, survivors of violence, and communities impacted by conflict, while also exploring pathways toward healing-centred, people-focused justice.

Grounded in Global South perspectives, Isibor identifies as an abolitionist and anti-capitalist advocate committed to dismantling carceral logics and co-creating alternatives rooted in dignity, care, and collective wellbeing. He has spoken at the International Bar Association and other global forums on legal wellbeing, sustainability, refugee protection, and trauma-informed legal practice.
