Jason Balgopal (he/him) is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1999. He has practiced criminal law exclusively since 2003 and has served as an Assistant Crown Attorney in Scarborough since 2004. Jason has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and prosecuted complex cases, including murder trials and dangerous offender applications. Having lived with depression and anxiety, he founded the Mental Wellness Peer Support Groups in 2015—safe spaces for anyone to share, receive empathy, and access free therapy with licensed professionals.
