Helen Bowen is a criminal barrister and youth advocate based in Auckland, New Zealand, with decades of experienc in restorative justice. A founding trustee of the Restorative Justice Trust, she helped pioneer adult restorative justice conferences in Aotearoa in the 1990s. Bowen has trained facilitators internationally, including in the UK and the Caribbean, and is known for her expertise in victim-centred restorative practices, including in serious criminal and health and safety cases. Helen is a trustee of Hei Tatau Pounamu, which involves creating a tikanga-led restorative practice following sentencing.
